2023 Alaska Section AWRA Annual Conference
BP Energy Center
- 1014 Energy Court, Anchorage, AK
March 6-8, 2023
Post-Conference Thanks
The Alaska Section AWRA wants to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated
in the 2023 Annual Conference last week in Anchorage. Whether you attended in-person
or virtually, were a presenter, moderator, timekeeper, or other volunteer, the
conference would not have been a success without YOU! The conference successfully
brought together over 80 water resource professionals and students to learn about
topics from cryosphere hydrology to drinking water, habitat, water extremes/hazards,
watershed management, hydrology designed and engineering, and region-specific water
resource and hydropower projects. With 30 presentations over 8 sessions plus a poster
session and rapid talks, there was a lot to cover! The Alaska Section is working to
compile and post the conference proceedings online and will make an announcement once
available. We look forward to continuing bringing together professionals to discuss
multidisciplinary water resource issues.
Pre-Conference Information
The Alaska Section, AWRA is excited to announce the 2023 Annual Conference after a three-year
hiatus! AWRA's mission is to advance multidisciplinary water resources education, management,
and research. Our annual conference is an opportunity for collaboration among physical, biological,
and social scientists, engineers, and students concerned with water resource research, planning,
development, management, and education. The intention is that this will be a hybrid conference;
presentations will be available for streaming but all speakers must be present in-person. We highly
encourage all who can to attend in person. Stay tuned and keep an eye out for more details in your
inbox and on this page regarding student travel grant opportunities
and more. Abstract submittal is now closed, but don't miss out on this conference
to network with water resources professionals and students to help celebrate AWRA.
