Brown bag meetings are quick, informative, monthly presentations on Alaskan water resources. Members from our community present and chat about their recent research in an informal setting to promote community growth & knowledge. Generally, we meet at 12:00 - 13:00 on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from October through April, taking a break for the summer field season. In the past, brownbags took place regionally and only in-person, but brownbags have evolved to be hybrid (in-person & online) to share presentations with a state-wide audience.

If you would like to present a work in-progress or chair a panel discussion of a current water topic for a range of government and private hydrologists, please contact awra.alaska@gmail.com. Upcoming Brownbags

Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 12-1 pm Tracking Acid Seeps in the Arctic from Subsurface Source Through Rusting River. Josh Koch, PhD - Research Hydrologist at the Alaska Science Center, USGS.
