Alaska Section, American Water Resources Association Michael R. Lilly, Alaska Section AWRA Northern-Region Director I would like to invite you to the January 1997 Brown-Bag presentation by Jim Aldrich. Jim's talk should be of interest to hydrologists and engineers working in the Tanana Valley floodplain. The drainage problems in the floodplain associated with both the Chena and Tanana Rivers, relatively flat topography, and operations of the Moose Creek Dam pose some difficult challenges for both the land owners and the water-resource professionals that work in this area. January 1997 Alaska Section AWRA Jim Aldrich, Shannon and Wilson. We will review what has been found as a result of the various hydrologic drainage investigations which have been conducted in this area. The history of the investigations, important hydrologic features and processes will be covered. Discussion will also discuss the implications of these issues for the future. |
