For the past several years the Alaska Professional Design Council (APDC), a consortium of professional societies representing more than 5,000 statewide architects, land surveyors, scientists, building code officials and landscape architects in private, public and military practice has hosted a legislative liaison luncheon prior to the fall elections and legislative session. APDC addresses issues of concern to the various design professions through workshops, seminars, ad-hoc committees, standing committees, and governmental task forces.

The purpose of the Fairbanks Annual APDC Legislative Forum is to provide an open discussion and educational transfer of knowledge regarding the issues of concerns to the Professional Design community and the candidates for election and ultimately our legislators for the 2000 legislature session. Each candidate will be asked to briefly identify, inform, and respond to questions regarding their priorities for the upcoming election and legislative session.

In the past this has been a joint meeting of all professional organizations. Members are being asked to submit any questions they may have for the legislators by September 16th. Legislative Luncheon on October 18, 2000, 11:30-1:30 PM at the Wickersham Hall. $15.00 for lunch. It looks like the majority of candidates will be there. These questions or any other input, may be directed to Mike Lilly or John Hargesheimer.
